For the purposes of this exchange, the mods will be very liberal with how “jealousy,” “obsession,” and related synonyms are used. As such, please consider that it may be beneficial to describe what kind of thematic representation you are looking for in the optional details of your requests.

Avoid nominating "All Media Types" when possible; please specify the media when making your nominations. When in doubt, being more specific is encouraged.

Please keep in mind that / is for romantic or sexual pairings and groups; & is for platonic, non-romantic pairings and groups. You may also nominate individual characters as “solo” Relationships.
Relationship nominations must include which character(s) in the pairing or group are jealous/obsessive in parentheses ("J/O"). “J/O” is to be used in all pairing nominations to cover all jealous, obsessive, possessive, envious, etc. situations or feelings. The request’s Additional Tags (and potentially optional details) should give clarity on how “J/O” in the Relationship tag should be interpreted.
Nominations submitted without a “J/O” suffix will be automatically updated to “A/B (A J/O)” by the mods prior to approval. If you intended to nominate “A/B (B J/O)” or some other derivative, you will need to submit additional nominations for that fandom.

Pinch Hits

We encourage you to share links to pinch hits with family, friends, pets, rivals, or archenemies if you think you know anyone who might be able to fill them.
We are very grateful to all pinch hitters! We will have a post where pinch hitters who did not sign up for the exchange can post requests, and encourage participants to treat them.
Posting Fanworks
Any fanwork added to the collection must be complete and of sufficient quality for your recipient to enjoy it if you are unable to make further changes to it.
If you post an incomplete fanwork, a work that does not match your recipient's requests, that goes against your recipient’s DNWs, is plagiarized, or is otherwise filler work, you may be banned from future exchange rounds.
The only recipient of your fanwork should be the person whose request you are fulfilling. Please do not gift works to multiple recipients, even if they have similar requests and even if your creation is a non-assignment treat.

Reveals

- “Dub/Noncon - Kidnapping” - While jealousy or obsession may be good motives for a kidnapper, it’s unclear if that’s what the nominator intended. Consider nominating something more specific, like “Dub/Noncon - Character kidnaps the person they are obsessed with.”
- “Family Relationships - Siblings Fighting” While jealousy or obsession may be good motives for siblings to fight, it’s unclear if that’s what the nominator intended. Pinch hits will be posted on this Dreamwidth community and promoted widely. Contact the mods at ao3modball+joe@gmail.com or reply to the pinch hits posts to claim them. We encourage you to share links to pinch hits with family, friends, pets, rivals, or archenemies if you think you know anyone who might be able to fill them.
We are very grateful to all pinch hitters! We will have a post where pinch hitters who did not sign up for the exchange can post requests, and encourage participants to treat them.
Posting Fanworks
Any fanwork added to the collection must be complete and of sufficient quality for your recipient to enjoy it if you are unable to make further changes to it.
If you post an incomplete fanwork, a work that does not match your recipient's requests, that goes against your recipient’s DNWs, is plagiarized, or is otherwise filler work, you may be banned from future exchange rounds.
The only recipient of your fanwork should be the person whose request you are fulfilling. Please do not gift works to multiple recipients, even if they have similar requests and even if your creation is a non-assignment treat.
How To Post
How to post an assignment:
- Navigate to the "My Assignments" page on your AO3 profile
- Click the “Fulfill” button next to your Cuppa JOE 2024 assignment
How to post a treat:
- Navigate to the Cuppa JOE 2024 collection
- Click “Post to Collection”
- Enter your recipient's exact AO3 username in the "Gift this work to" field
Reveals
All fanworks posted to the Cuppa JOE AO3 collection will be anonymously revealed on September 22, 2024 11:59 AM CDT or when all participants qualifying for the Gift Guarantee received a gift, whichever is later.
Upon fanwork reveals, please leave kudos and comment on your gift(s). If possible, please do this before creators are revealed. If you aren't sure what to say, a simple "Thank you for this wonderful gift!" is perfectly acceptable.
If you find you have been gifted an inappropriate gift, such as a gift that includes one of your DNWs, please immediately contact the mods via email.
Creators will be revealed 1 week from the date fanworks are revealed.
